RD achieves Toitū carbonreduce certification
We are proud to announce that RD has received the world leading Toitū carbonreduce certification, marking a significant milestone in our ongoing sustainability journey.
The Toitū carbonreduce certification is awarded to companies that are actively measuring and reducing their carbon emissions. It is an in-depth process that includes data collection, verification, audits, and the development of a carbon reduction plan. Compliance with the programme is independently verified annually to maintain certification.
Highly respected globally, with recognition in over 60 countries, it is the world’s first carbon certification programme to be accredited under ISO 14065. Toitū carbonreduce certified products can also earn points in the New Zealand Green Building Council’s Green Star programme, further highlighting the credibility and importance of this certification.
“Identifying and understanding our carbon footprint is the first step in reducing it. The Toitū certification process has provided us with the necessary knowledge and tools to achieve this,” says Kyle Pennell, Managing Director at RD. “This certification not only reaffirms our dedication to controlling our carbon emissions but also ensures long-term accountability.”
RD has already started implementing carbon reduction efforts. Alongside developing the first Toitū certified fit-out calculator, we’ve adopted more fuel-efficient practices, evaluated our waste management strategies, transitioned to sustainable materials, and committed to providing ongoing sustainability education to our team. Our current focus is exploring new solar options for our manufacturing plant.
This certification signifies that we are actively working towards reducing our carbon footprint. RD is committed to keeping our customers and suppliers informed about our carbon reduction progress.
